A portable handwashing station is about 3 feet wide and 4.5 feet tall, with two sinks back to back, a foot pump for each, soap and paper towel dispensers, and a fresh-water tank of about 30 gallons. One fill gives roughly 300 hand washes. It needs no hose or power.

How many handwashing stations do you need?
Plan 1 handwashing station for every 3 porta potties at an event with food, and place it next to the toilets. On a job site, OSHA 1926.51(f) requires washing facilities where workers handle paints, coatings or other harmful contaminants. Food vendors follow Summit County Public Health rules.

A separate handwashing station serves two people at a time and works for food lines, kitchens and crews. A deluxe flushing unit has a sink inside, which suits small events where guests wash right after using the toilet. For events of 100 guests or more, separate stations move people faster.

Does a handwashing station need a water hookup?
A portable handwashing station needs no hookup. We fill the fresh-water tank at delivery and at every service visit.
Is the water heated?
The water is not heated. Hot water is only available in our restroom trailers, which need a power connection.
Can I rent a handwashing station without a porta potty?
Stations rent on their own for food booths, kitchens and job sites, from $115 per event.
Can I refill the station myself?
You can top it up with a hose or clean jugs. Do not add soap or bleach to the tank.
Do handwashing stations work in winter?
Below freezing, the water lines can freeze. In winter we pair standard toilets with sanitizer, or move handwashing indoors.
