How many porta potties do you need for a party or event?
For a party or event of up to 4 hours, plan 1 standard porta potty for every 50 guests. Add 1 unit per 150 guests for each extra 4 hours, and 1 more per 150 guests when alcohol is served. A 120-guest graduation party lasting 5 hours with beer needs 5 units.
| Guests | Up to 4 hours | 4–8 hours | 4–8 hours with alcohol |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 50 | 1 | 2 | 3 |
| 51–100 | 2 | 3 | 4 |

Event units vs. construction units
Event porta potties come from a separate part of our fleet that never goes to job sites. Event units are newer, cleaner inside and fully stocked when they arrive. Construction units are built for weekly service and heavy use. You get an event unit automatically when you book for a party.
| Event unit | Construction unit | |
|---|---|---|
| Rental length | Up to 4 days, flat price | 28-day cycles |
| Service visits | None needed | Weekly |
| Condition | Newer shells, kept for events only | Rugged, job-site fleet |
| Colors | Blue, gray, and pink on request | Blue |
| Best for | Parties, reunions, church and school events | Crews, remodels, long rentals |

Friday drop, Monday pickup: how weekend event delivery works
For a Saturday or Sunday event, we deliver your porta potties on Friday and pick them up Monday, at no extra cost. Early delivery means the units are ready before your first guest arrives. Saturday morning drops are possible when the route allows, but cannot be promised to the hour.
- Book with your address, guest count and the event date.
- Mark the spot: flat ground, near a driveway, away from food tables.
- Friday: the driver calls 30 minutes ahead and texts a photo after setup.
- Monday: we pick up. You don't need to be home.
Need the unit for a Friday-night event, or a pickup the same night? Ask when you call; late pickups are quoted separately.
Porta potties at Akron parks and public events
Events in Akron city parks need a special event permit from Akron Recreation and Parks, and the permit can set rules on restroom counts and overnight placement. Summit Metro Parks shelters follow their own rules. Ask the park or venue before booking, then tell us the drop-off and pickup windows they allow.
Start with Akron Recreation and Parks events or Summit Metro Parks. If food is served to the public, the vendor plan goes through Summit County Public Health. When a park does not allow overnight units, we can deliver and pick up on the same day, quoted separately.
Handwashing and accessibility at events
Add 1 handwashing station for every 3 porta potties when food is served, and place it beside the toilets, not by the buffet. For public events, at least 5 percent of portable units in each cluster, and never fewer than 1, should be wheelchair-accessible under the 2010 ADA Standards.
Source: 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design, section 213.2. Confirm with your permit office or venue. See wheelchair-accessible unit specs and handwashing station options.
Parties & events: questions renters ask
Can I rent a porta potty for just one day?
One-day events are priced as a flat rental covering up to 4 days, from $185 per standard unit. The unit usually arrives the day before and leaves the next business day, at no extra cost.
Do you have pink porta potties for a gender reveal or baby shower?
A small number of pink units are kept for showers and gender reveals. Ask early, because they book out on spring and summer weekends.
How far ahead should I book for a graduation party?
Book graduation parties 3–4 weeks ahead. Late May through June is the busiest stretch in Summit County, and Saturday units sell out first.
Will the porta potty smell at my party?
Event units arrive washed with fresh deodorizer in the tank. For a 4-hour party, 1 unit per 50 guests keeps the tank far below full. Place it downwind of the food and in partial shade in summer.
Can it be cleaned during a multi-day event?
Multi-day festivals and tournaments can add a mid-event service visit from $65. We pump, wash and restock between sessions.
Can the porta potty go on my grass?
Grass works if the ground is firm and the truck can park within 25 feet. Soft or wet lawns may rut, so a driveway edge is safer in spring.
What if it rains and we cancel?
Cancel more than 24 hours before delivery for a full refund. Inside 24 hours, a $50 trip charge is kept. Weather moves to a new date for free when we have units available.
