We describe this unit as wheelchair-accessible. If you need to confirm a specific accessibility standard for a permit, ask us for the manufacturer's spec sheet for the unit you are renting.
How many accessible units does an event need?
Under section 213.2 of the 2010 ADA Standards, at least 5 percent of portable toilets in each cluster, and never fewer than 1, should be accessible. An event with 10 standard units in one spot needs 1 accessible unit. Two clusters of 6 need 1 accessible unit in each cluster.
Source: 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design. That is the legal baseline; we recommend at least 1 accessible unit at any event with older guests or families with strollers. Confirm with your venue or permit office; this is not legal advice.
Placing an accessible unit
Place a wheelchair-accessible unit on firm, level ground with a smooth path to the door, such as pavement, packed gravel or short dry grass. Avoid slopes, curbs and loose mulch. Keep the door clear of tents, coolers and cords, and set the unit at the end of a row for easy access.

Accessible porta potty questions
Is a wheelchair-accessible porta potty the same as an ADA-compliant one?
We call our unit wheelchair-accessible. Whether a specific setup meets an accessibility standard depends on the unit, the placement and the route to it. Ask us for the manufacturer's spec sheet if your permit requires one.
Can a parent use the accessible unit to change a baby?
The accessible unit has the most floor space of any portable toilet, so parents often use it for diaper changes. It has no changing table.
How much more does an accessible unit cost?
An accessible unit starts at $255 per event, $70 more than a standard unit, or $225 per 28 days.
Do I need an accessible unit on a construction site?
OSHA's construction toilet rule does not require an accessible unit, but public-facing and commercial projects often add one. A worker who needs one should always have one.
Can I swap a standard unit for an accessible one after booking?
Swaps are free up to 24 hours before delivery, subject to stock.
